Mission
We are looking to fill the role of Operations Director (Turkeys USA) that will be based at or near the operational facilities in South Dakota or Nebraska. This position will report to the Director Value & Supply Chain and will have complete responsibility for all farm, hatchery, transportation and feed mill operations in the USA. The Operations Director will ensure that all facilities produce high quality eggs & poults and run as cost effectively as possible. This role will also work in close collaboration with all internal departments in the areas of veterinary services, quality, supply chain, finance, HR, R&D and sales.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for company owned and contracted facilities to ensure we produce the most cost-efficient product with the highest standard of health and quality
- Responsible for quarantine farm contracts

Set the targets/goals for operational excellence at all facilities and within the transportation department
Build a collaborative team with clear accountability and overall team development
Active participation in enhancements for Animal Welfare, Biosecurity and other corporate programs
Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
Ensure good biosecurity and flock health is maintained at all facilities
Responsible for the preparation and delivery of the annual budgets (all areas including company & contract farms, service crew, other services, hatcheries, transportation, etc.) and related KPI’s
Management of overall productivity at farms & hatcheries
Ensure all Hybrid’s procedures (biosecurity, safety, quality, NPIP and other programs) are strictly adhered to
Improve and document process improvement plans and development of KPI’s for operations
Support all company goal’s as outlined by the MD and General Manager, America’s
Implementing change management to improve the operations from a utilization and cost driven manner
Ensure we meet the needs of our customers by participating and understanding customer requirements
Create trust based working relationships with all stakeholders (internal & external)
Profil
- 10+ years of experience in facility and people management (preferably in turkeys)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent field of study in agriculture/animal production/agribusiness
- Poultry knowledge (animal production, feed, health, etc.)
- Excellent organization skills
- Cost management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate people
- Superior time management and organizational skills
- Strategic and innovative thinker with the ability to solve problems
- Customer focused (internally and externally)
- Strong computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.)
- Must have valid drivers license and be insurable
- Valid passport with the ability to travel (occasional)
