Mission
The Supply Chain & Meat Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of genetic products from production to end users, ensuring that customer demands are met across the pork value chain. This position supports the integration of genetic improvement with commercial performance by coordinating supply chain activities and contributing to research and development initiatives. The specialist provides data-driven insights to optimize logistics, enhance product value, and support customer satisfaction, aligning operational execution with the company’s strategic goals in swine genetics.
This role will work closely with Operations, Sales (including Marketing and Communication), and Product Excellence (including R&D and Global Customer Services) departments to ensure that revenue targets and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.
- Ensure the efficient and cost-effective dissemination of genetic improvement from nucleus herds through the pork supply chain to end customers.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities with existing and prospective partners/customers to meet targeted business needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting of all product inventories across the supply chain.
- Proactively ensure availability of semen/boars at the right time and at the right location for internal and external use
- Apply a broad and comprehensive understanding of systems, theories, and practices relevant to the pork supply chain.
- Provide technical expertise and support to sales representatives, resellers, and customers during the sales process, resolving meat quality-related inquiries and maximizing product value.
- Support genetic management in customer systems by monitoring performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing action plans to enhance commercial genetic merit.
- Contribute to R&D initiatives by supplying relevant data on supply chain performance and carcass/meat traits.
- Develop training and support materials for regional and local sales teams, focusing on product developments and genetic program updates.
- Provide guidance on the setup, execution, and analysis of local trials.
- Collaborate with local and regional teams on product positioning, trial design, go-to-market strategies, and training needs
- Stay current in the field by building a network of industry and academic contacts, reviewing relevant literature, and participating in scientific and industry events.
Profil
- University or Advanced Degree in Agricultural/Animal Sciences or business-related fields
- A minimum of five years of experience within intensive swine production systems
- Experience in supply chain management, meat quality assessment, and R&D projects
- English level is needed
