Sales and Technical Manager

We are seeking a commercially minded poultry professional for a key customer-facing role that combines technical expertise, account management, export coordination, and practical customer support across New Zealand the Pacific Islands.

Reporting to the General Manager and based at our Ohoka office, you will lead customer relationships, coordinate internal delivery, and lead a tight knit sales and export team. This is a hands-on role for someone who can turn technical knowledge into practical commercial value.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Manage and grow key customer relationships across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands including regularly travelling to customers within NZ and the Pacific Islands as required.

• Coordinate with internal teams to plan and deliver customer requirements.

• Own sales forecasts, account plans, customer commitments, and identify market opportunities to support sustainable growth and reliable supply.

• Support customers with practical technical advice and ensure they have access to the right expertise across the Hendrix Genetics network, from local specialists through to global subject matter experts.

• Resolve customer issues, complaints, and technical claims professionally and promptly.

• Poultry industry experience, ideally in breeder, hatchery, layer, technical, or customer-facing operations.

• Strong relationship-building skills with customers, internal teams, and technical specialists.

• The ability to translate technical information into clear, commercially relevant advice.

• Commercial awareness, sound judgement, and a strong customer-delivery mindset.

• Good planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

• A willingness to travel regularly within New Zealand and the Pacific region as required.

• Customer focused (internally and externally).
